A fantastic pair of vintage Levi's 505 denim jeans, believed to date from the late 1970s to early 1980s, featuring a beautifully preserved deep indigo-blue wash and the timeless straight-leg silhouette that has made the 505 one of Levi's most enduring denim styles.

These jeans are a wonderful example of classic American denim design, with rich blue colouring, traditional five-pocket construction, copper-toned rivets and golden-brown contrast stitching. The denim has developed subtle natural fading and beautiful variations in tone while retaining an impressively clean and well-preserved appearance.

One of the most appealing details is the Talon 42 zipper, an excellent period feature associated with older denim production. The jeans also retain the signature Levi's red tab, classic arcuate stitching across the rear pockets and traditional branded metal hardware.

The faded internal care label retains the 505 model designation, with the accompanying numbers appearing to read 0217, suggesting the original style reference 505-0217. Another surviving line appears to read 03 8 5, while the top button carries the factory stamp 5.

Together with the Talon zipper, older-style labelling and overall construction, these details are consistent with an estimated late-1970s to early-1980s production period. A possible 1978 date has been considered, although the faded production markings do not allow the exact year to be confirmed with certainty.

The original back waistband patch is no longer present, but the jeans retain their unmistakable Levi's character, including the red tab, beautifully stitched rear pockets and classic zip-fly construction.
