An exceptional original 1970s Hawaiian shirt, made in Hawaii by Napili and personally sourced by us in Hawaii.

Cut from lightweight 100% polyester, this piece features an incredible monochrome scenic print running across the entire garment. Shades of black, charcoal, silver-grey and soft lavender create a dramatic landscape of rolling mountains, stylised clouds, crashing waves and soaring birds.

The artwork has a distinctly Japanese-influenced quality, with fine linear detailing throughout giving the print an almost woodblock-like appearance. The scale of the design is fantastic, particularly across the back where the landscape stretches almost uninterrupted across the shirt.

Finished with a contrasting black open collar, button front and chest pocket beautifully incorporated into the surrounding print.

The original woven Napili – Made in Hawaii label remains at the neck alongside the period fabric label identifying the shirt as 100% polyester and size Medium.

This is exactly the sort of Hawaiian piece we love finding — unmistakably vintage, visually striking and completely different from the brightly coloured tropical shirts most commonly associated with the genre.
